clear water
in a swimming pool
never turns
as beautiful as the ocean
in my hometown

Comments from Kathabela Wilson:
The author is our only member in China. His subtle unique perspective expands throughout the poem. Comparing a clear controlled swimming pool to the wild, expansive, mysterious, richness of an ocean environment, he reminds us that the natural order contains a complex, debris laden, emotionally potent beauty. Human beings like to clean things up. But our "hometown" is like the ocean.
